The Peninsula Jewish Community Center is in search of a Director of Camp, Youth and Family Programs to lead our Youth Department, set the vision and direction for all youth programs, and oversee all department operations. The Director of Camp, Youth, and Family Programs serves as the Camp Director and manages Camp Keff, our summer and seasonal camp program for youth in grades K - 12, and oversees the management of the Treehouse at the J afterschool program and other youth programming throughout the year. This position will work collaboratively with youth, parents, volunteers, PJCC staff, and other Jewish and civic agencies to provide, enhance, and expand opportunities for youth at the PJCC. The Director of Camp, Youth and Family Programs works to ensure that programs and activities are effective in carrying out the mission of the PJCC as well as the philosophy of the Youth Department at the highest level.

Essential Skills
• A strong leader with the ability to collaborate and provide direction to staff and build connections with children and families
• Significant experience in camp, school, or recreational programming, including designing youth programming and knowledge of youth development
• An outstanding communicator with strong written and oral communication skills, including group presentation skills

This is a full-time position; Monday through Friday, with weekend and night events, as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENT

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Child Development, Recreation or equivalent; 4+years of programming, supervisory, and program management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with youth and families in camp, school, or recreational settings. Licensed Childcare Site Director Certification or ability to obtain is required. Knowledge of Jewish culture and/or experience working in a Jewish setting is preferred. Strong computer literacy and ability to compose and articulate professional correspondence. Experience with budget development and management preferred. Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License with a Youth Bus Certificate and passenger endorsement preferred; driver's license with clean driving record and willingness to drive company vans required.

Health Requirements:
• Must be in good health and physically and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks as verified by or under the supervision of a physician who completes the mandated health screening report
• Must be able to lift and carry a child weighing up to 50 pounds away from a potentially dangerous situation during an emergency
• Must have the ability to act quickly and appropriately in hazardous situations and to provide first aid in emergency situations
• Must have current First Aid and CPR Certification, or the ability to become certified
